From America’s Great Outdoors:
Arches National Park in Utah preserves over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, like the world-famous Delicate Arch, as well as many other unusual rock formations. In some areas, the forces of nature have exposed millions of years of geologic history. The extraordinary features of the park create a landscape of contrasting colors, landforms and textures that is unlike any other in the world.

Past and current presidents have met with British leaders many times over the years. Most recently President Obama welcomed the British Prime Minister and his wife to the United States.
To mark the visit, the White House Historical Association put together a photo slideshow of some of the British visits to the United States. View more photos from the slideshow.

Image description: A life vest used by a survivor of the RMS Titanic. Five days into its maiden voyage in 1912, the White Star ocean liner Titanic struck an iceberg at full speed in the North Atlantic, en route from England to the United States. At 2:20 a.m. on April 15, the gigantic ship sank in 12,500 feet of water 350 miles off the coast of Canada. Within about two hours, the ocean liner Carpathia arrived and rescued the Titanic’s 705 surviving crew and passengers. Around 1,500 people aboard were lost.
Chicago physician Dr. Frank Blackmarr, a Carpathia passenger, helped with the survivors suffering from hypothermia, exposure, and shock. He collected this Titanic life vest during the voyage as a souvenir, and later donated it to the Chicago Historical Society. In 1982, the CHS donated it to the Smithsonian’s National Watercraft Collection.

A bit random this one - a Star Wars/Tintin mashup, TaunTaun (and snowy)
I was halfway through drawing this when I stumbled across a similar piece of artwork by Benjamin Rivers, posted a month ago… http://benjaminrivers.tumblr.com/post/14128626001/the-adventures-of-tintin-and-his-taun-taun-i-drew
A case of ‘great minds think alike’ perhaps? More like ’some minds think slower than others.’
The pain in my heart on seeing one hungry, thirsty child give another water was overwhelming. Allah protect them. Ameen.
Busy day in Manhattan… but there’s always time for the paper.
i’ve been thinking of doing this for a while now. after i saw this floating around, i wanted to make my own version to hang on my wall. and knowing me, well, i had to make it all ~shnazzy~ so i made this 11x17 poster. i made it so you can download yourself one too, if you like. it’s a nice PDF file so you can take that to Kinko’s and blow it up and hang it nicely in your room or whateva.
